Accra City Tour

  • Morning: Begin with a visit to the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, dedicated to Ghana's first president, then head to Independence Square, an iconic symbol of Ghana's freedom.
  • Afternoon: Tour W.E.B. Du Bois Center, honoring the legacy of the famous African-American scholar who spent his last years in Ghana. Stop by Makola Market to experience local life and shop for crafts.
  • Evening: Visit Jamestown, a historical neighborhood with a mix of colonial architecture and fishing communities. Climb the Jamestown Lighthouse for sunset views.

Cape Coast - Historical Sites and Beaches

  • Morning: Depart for Cape Coast (around 3-hour drive). Start with a guided tour of Cape Coast Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site with a moving history of the transatlantic slave trade.
  • Afternoon: Visit Elmina Castle, the oldest European building in sub-Saharan Africa, located nearby.
  • Evening: Relax on Cape Coast Beach or enjoy the vibrant nightlife in the area.

Kakum National Park

  • Morning: Head to Kakum National Park, known for its stunning canopy walkway suspended 100 feet above the forest floor. Enjoy a guided nature walk to learn about the unique flora and fauna.

Day 6

Lake Bosomtwe and Craft Villages

  • Morning: Take a scenic drive to Lake Bosomtwe, a peaceful crater lake surrounded by lush hills. Enjoy swimming or canoeing.
  • Afternoon: Visit nearby craft villages such as Bonwire (kente cloth weaving), Ahwiaa (wood carving), and Ntonso (adinkra cloth making) to watch artisans and shop for unique souvenirs.

Return to Accra and Departure
